A: Cornerstone Community Development Corporation is an inner-city outreach organization in South Dallas. In an area once dubbed "The Ware Zone" because of the high drug and gang influences, Cornerstone is performing life-changing community services by providing:
A homeless ministry
Food and clothes pantries
After-school programs
Literacy training
Programs to transition women from welfare to the workforce
Valley Ranch Baptist Church is partnering with Cornerstone Baptist Church and Cornerstone Community Development Corporation through the Christmas Store.
Q: What does the Christmas Store provide?
A: Each family receives the following:
Volunteers transport parent(s) from the Cornerstone neighborhoods and Waterford Apartments to VRBC.
Parents "shop" (at no cost) for Christmas gifts for their children.
Each child receives a new:
Small toy from $15-20
Large toy from $25-30
Package of underwear
Package of socks
Sweatshirt
Stocking stuffed full of surprises
Each parent walks away with a wrapped gift to open on Christmas Morning.
Each family receives a Voucher to purchase a Christmas meal.
A volunteer walks with each participant to assist in selecting the gifts.
Volunteers wrap the gifts selected.
Volunteers are available to answer questions about salvation while their gifts are wrapped.
Volunteers take the gifts to the car and take the participants back to Cornerstone.
Parent(s) also receive our hospitality, entertainment, and much more!
Q: How is the Christmas Store funded?
A: All funding for the Christmas Store is provided by the VRBC mission funds, cash donations and 100% of the auction proceeds.
